Hunting some stock of good private producer shu cha from end 90s and begin of 2000s ... Until the mid-1990s, shu puerh was produced exclusively by a handful of state-owned factories. When the market opened up, a number of private factories began producing fermented puerh. This period is particularly interesting because fermentation was moderate and left room for natural fermentation, allowing the character of old tea to develop over time. Unfortunately, not all teas from this period have aged well. While light fermentation allowed some to develop beautiful notes of maturation, it also left many teas bland, with aromas faded by time... Searching for rare gems into these productions takes a lot of time, but we are always rewarded when we find them! #puerh #puerhtea #shucha #shupuerh #agingtea
