When Ivan @viterceramics introduced me to the Ba teahouse @ba__kyiv, where the workshop in Kyiv was to take place, he added: “And what's also great about this tea house is that it's underground. It's a real shelter. If there's an air raid alert during the workshop, it won't disrupt the tasting.” It was, shall we say, a rather fresh description. It was both very pragmatic and reassuring, and also rather absurd. In any case, it was in line with the initial idea: we would be able to make tea under the bombs if, unfortunately, the opportunity arose. And we weren't far off! After a few hours of the workshop, I noticed everyone nervously checking their phones, then flashing me a kind of frozen smile, telling me that everything was fine! We was indeed having an air raid alert, and a missile flew through the sky above us (or nearby), fortunately without causing any damage in the area. And while outside the sirens were blaring and people were taking refuge in shelters... I have to say that we were quite comfortable drinking old teas in our cozy bunker and were able to continue the workshop peacefully... #tea #teaknowledge #teatasting #teaeducation #teaworkshop #ukraine
